Privacy Policy
Last updated · July 16, 2026
This page is maintained by the Labnology team to answer common privacy questions about how the platform handles your information. It is app-owned editable content, not a certification or independent audit. Labnology is an educational product; do not upload real patient identifiers into the Service.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, and (if you choose) a display avatar, mentor profile, or preferred first name used for tutor greetings.
- Learning activity: lessons started and completed, quiz answers, Socratic check responses, and mastery progress — used to personalize your experience and progress dashboards.
- Usage analytics: pages visited, features used, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from IP — used to improve product quality.
- Support communications: messages you send us, including feedback, error reports, and mentor applications.
2. How we use information
- Operate the Service, including authentication, lesson delivery, tutor interactions, and progress tracking;
- Personalize content, recommendations, and difficulty;
- Improve curriculum, fix bugs, and monitor abuse or security incidents;
- Send transactional messages (account, billing, security) and — if you opt in — educational newsletters.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. AI features
When you use tutor Q&A, translation, or other AI-powered features, your prompt and relevant lesson context are sent to our AI provider(s) to generate a response. Do not include real patient identifiers in prompts. Prompts and responses may be logged for abuse prevention and quality improvement.
6. Data retention
We keep account information for as long as your account is active. Learning progress is retained so you can resume study across sessions. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time; some records (for example, billing history required by law) may be retained for a longer period.
7. Security
Labnology uses industry-standard access controls, row-level security on the database, encrypted transport (HTTPS), and managed authentication. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password and enable any additional protections offered.
8. Children
The Service is intended for medical laboratory science students, educators, and clinicians. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to object to certain uses. Contact us to exercise these rights.
10. International transfers
Labnology and its providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate legal safeguards for cross-border transfers.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email.
12. Contact
